Our Brookside Directress has a Master’s Degree in Education from Bloomsburg University. Miss Curley also has Montessori Certification. Susan has been with Brookside since 1985. She took over as owner of the Brookside Montessori School in 1989. In addition to her role as Directress, Susan is currently acting in the role of Kindergarten teacher.



Genny has her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with minors in Reading, English, and Remedial Reading. She joined Brookside as a parent in 1996 and became a member of our staff in 2002. She teaches in the Montessori pre-school five full days, and is also coordinator of our Scholastic Book Order Program.  


Sarah joined the Brookside staff as a teacher’s aid in the Montessori pre-school during the 2012-2013 school year.  She is a graduate of Brookside. Sarah graduated from Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, TX with an associate degree in Early Childhood Education. She completed the third year for her BS in Early Childhood Education at Texas A&M in Corsicana, TX and successfully completed her Montessori Certification in 2013.  Sarah graduated from Millersville University with her BS in ECEd in December, 2015 and is currently pursuing her PA State Teacher Certification.


Jamie joined the staff at Brookside in 2013 as a part-time teacher in the Montessori Preschool.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Reading.  Jamie has two children who are graduates of Brookside Montessori. 


Senora Alitto is the Spanish teacher at Brookside. Senora Alitto, the mother of two Brookside graduates, is a certified language teacher who has taught in the Camp Hill School District and The Harrisburg Academy. She currently teaches Spanish, French, and ESL at Harrisburg Area Community College.


Joan joined the teaching staff in 2015 as the Art teacher.  She has degrees in Math/Computer Science, Economics and Project Management and is recently retired from IBM after a 34+ year career.  Joan is also the web master for, the Brookside Bulletin editor and a former Brookside parent.  The children may call her Miss Joan
