Program Information

The Brookside Montessori School is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as a Montessori Preschool and Kindergarten. 

Children are required to be at least 2 years, 9 months old and potty-trained before enrolling.

• • The AM Program (8:30am – 11:30am) is a five day program, Monday through Friday.
  • The Full-Day Program (8:30am – 3:00pm) can be a three, four or five day program for Preschool children, and a four or five day program for Kindergarten children. Full-Day Program children are required to bring their own lunch. 
  • The Kindergarten Program (8:30am – 3:00pm) is four (Monday through Thursday) or five (Monday through Friday) full days.  Mornings are spent in the Kindergarten classroom and afternoons in the Montessori classroom. Kindergarten program children are required to bring their own lunch.

School Hours

• •  8:20am – Doors Open.  Students are to be brought to the door by parents/caregivers where they will be met and escorted into the classroom by staff.  PLEASE be respectful of other families and current social distancing guidelines when coming to the entrance.  Only students are permitted to enter the school. 

• •  8:20am – 9:00am – Montessori classroom time – as students arrive they will be escorted to and spend time in the Montessori classroom.

• •  9:00am – In-school activities begin – families arriving after 9:00am are required to wait at the door until a member of the staff is available to check them in
    • Pre-school and Kindergarten separate
      • 9:00am – 11:30am – Kindergarten classroom time (includes snack and recess)
      • 9:00am – 11:30am – Pre-school Montessori classroom time (includes calendar time, snack and recess)

• • 11:30am – AM Program student dismissal (**See note**)

• • 11:30am – 12:10pm – Lunch time for Full-Day Program students

• • 12:10pm – 12:50pm – Recess – Outdoors, weather permitting

• • 12:50pm – 3:00pm – Montessori classroom time for all students (includes snack and recess)

• •  3:00pm – Full-Day Program student dismissal (**See note**)

** Parents/caregivers will be asked to provide a 5 minute pick-up window upon check-in each day.  It will be                           important to adhere to this target so that staff can organize children for a safe departure. **                      *** Please refer to the School Calendar for any changes to the schedule by day. ***
